The Call, a Christian Rock/Worship band from southwest Virginia, was formed in 2014 and consists of band members Phil Adams, Haley Isbell, Randon Mabe, Steve Isbell, and Tanya Isbell.
Tanya is the heart of the band, as can be heard in her warm lead vocals and touching lyrics. She began her musical endeavors at the very young age of eight years old, traveling, singing, and playing piano with her parents and brother in the Southern Gospel group, The Greear Family.
Haley brings her commanding and harmonious vocals along with an infectious stage presence to the band. She began singing and harmonizing when she was six years old.
Steve is the frontman and bassist or as he says, the backbone of the band. Steve started playing the guitar first and switched to bass when some friends needed a bass player. Randon, the guitarist of the band, began playing when he was eight years old. He lends a hand in the songwriting process with his melodic riffs and undefined style. Phil, drummer, is the driving force of the band, providing energetic feels and contributing to songwriting. Phil has been playing music for 30 years.
The Call has opened for Christian Music artists Danny Gokey, Remedy Drive, and Adam Cappa, and played at music festivals such as Replenish Festival, Pneumafest, and Hillbilly Days. The band has recently released their latest cd entitled “Open it up” recorded and produced by the Grammy award winner David Castle of Castle Recording Studio. Mr. Castle describes The Call’s music as a blend of current Christian radio and influences of 70’s and 80’s music. He says “the music has a lot of great elements of guitar driven music combined with a powerful message.”
All of the members of The Call are Christians and their main goal is to see lives changed, for people to understand that there is a God that loves them unconditionally, and that they are truly important. They want to share the love of Jesus to a hurting, lost, and dying world through their music and strive to use their talents to glorify God.
